Thomas Minor Davenport, b: Sept. 29, 1821 in Alabama, d: March 20, 1886 in Louisiana, m. Narcissia Watts Lowe in Mississippi, June 30, 1847. Federal census list Thomas Minor's father as being born in South Carolina and his mother in Tennessee. In a 1960 interview, one of his granddaughters said that she thought his mother's name was either Lucinda or Amanda Kinchelow and his father's name was either David, Joseph, or Thomas. Family bible pages list the names of his children as being: David William Davenport, b: June 11, 1849 John M. Davenport, b: October 31 1850 James Nathan Davenport, b: June 17, 1853 Thomas L. Davenport, b: January 26, 1856 Martha A. J. Davenport, b: January 16, 1859 Mary Mildred Davenport, b: March 31, 1861 Amanda C. Davenport, b: March 7 1864 Son Davenport, b: July 26, 1866 Joseph Davenport, b: September 5, 1868 This Davenport family lived in or near Leake co. Mississippi, moved to Calcaseau parish, Louisiana after 1868 but before 1870, and then some of them moved into South Texas around 1900.
