Hi Fran: At the present time I can't help you but if you can make one connection I might. My gggg-grandfather had a son William. He was born in 1770 in Culpepper Co. Va. to Martin Davenport and Hannah Baker. They left Va. and came to the Johns River area of what is now Caldwell Co. N.C. From there they came up into the mountains in what is now Avery and Mitchell Counties, the area where I now live. After several years William moved back to the Johns River area in Caldwell Co., where Lenoir is located. He married Mary Lenoir Gordon, widow of Major Charles Gordon and they raised a family. I have none of the childrens names. William was a brother to my ggg-grandfather Jonas, so if you can make the connection to William I can get you back to Martin, Thomas, Martin Sr, and Davis who are listed on the Panmunky Davenport page....Richard C.
