For the rest of you wondering what does this have to do with us? Scott Wiseman is a descendant of William WISEMAN who first married Mary DAVENPORT, d/o Thomas, s/o Martin, s/o Davis. However, I believe Scott is from William's 2nd wife Lydia Bedford's children. William fathered 19 and Scott took those old stories and wrote about them. Stories like The Battle of King's Mountain with his "Sweet Lips"...story of the young man who shot Ferguson. Seems he named his rifle for his girl in TN. There is also an area called "Wiseman's View" inside the Linville River Gorge named for this family and from here you see the famous "Brown Mountain Lights". Folks around here prefer Scotts version of those mysterious lights that have been seen for the past 200 years. When Scott died in 1981, he was buried in the churchyard that inspired him to write "Homecoming Time In Happy Valley". Lulu Belle died this year and rests beside him. They were a team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year "This Is For Now And Forever". It's good to know those love songs were for someone as special as a beautiful mountain girl who was a real LuLu of a Belle. Thanks for letting me share with you. Elaine in Avery
