Janet, Several of William and Mary DAVENPORT Wiseman's descendants have gone into the DAR on his Patriotic Service. According to Dr. Emmett White's book "Revolutionary War Soldiers of Western North Carolina" Vol 2, William is mentioned as having made shoes for the troops. He was assisted by his 17 year old son Thomas, who was named for Mary's father. I hope this helps. Elaine in Avery
