To all of you Newberry Davenports, I am interested in any information that you can provide me with either by email or by US Mail relating to Francis Davenport of Newberry, South Carolina in that time period. I have not spent much time on this family because I did not believe they were part of my line. Now I'm not so sure. Recently Adrienne (Yoga Golf@aol.com) posted to this list a mention of Sarah Davenport 1764-1844 (Dau. of Francis) married Samuel Beeks/Beakes 1752-1814 (Hereafter Beakes). When I read it, it jumped right out at me. Beakes is pretty much a Bucks County, Pa./ Burlington Co. NJ surname. Since then, Adrienne and I have been in touch. I have done quite a bit of research to add to what I had on Edmund Beakes and what Adrienne had on Samuel Beakes. I believe we have a round-about lead from Francis Davenport of Newberry to Francis Davenport of Chesterfield, Burlington County, NJ. Will try to make this as easy as I can. Sarah Davenport 1764-1844 was a daughter of Francis Davenport of Newberry, SC. She married Samuel Beakes 1752-1814 of Bucks County, PA. Samuel Beakes grandfather, Abraham Beakes 1703-1732 of Bucks Co, Pa. was a first cousin to Edmund Beakes 1692-1775 of Bucks Co, Pa to Burlington Co. NJ. Edmund Beakes married 1719, Burlington County, NJ Anne Gilberthorpe b.4.20.1692. Anne Gilberthorpe was daughter of Thomas Gilberthorpe & Esther Brown/e. Esther Brown/e was a dau. of Henry & Ann Brown/e. Sarah Brown/e was a sister to Esther & dau of Henry & Ann Brown/e Sarah Brown/e was 2nd wife (& my ancestor) of Francis Davenport 1651-1707 born in Cheshire, England and died at Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Obviously we need a lot more. I'm hoping some of you may have something that will lead us to more. Bob McKeon RHilands@aol.com Robert Hilands McKeon P.O.
