Elaine: I am researching Davenport (for my daughter-in-law) in King William County just next to King and Queen. She is Brenda Davenport Birkitt; her father was Rawlings Grant Davenport (d. 1943 and buried at historic Sharon Baptist Church, Central Garage, Va.); his father was Ernest Linwood Davenport; his father was Edgar Morris Davenport(b. 1855)--all from King William, Va. I have a 60 page genealogy on Martin Davenport of Hanover County (next to Caroline). He was one of the six sons of the King William Patriarch, Davis Davenport. Have not connected yet. One other observation....I was minister in Caroline County at Carmel Baptist Church for nearly 20 years. I knew a James Kidd. I do not know whether he is still living, but his sister is Mabel Kidd Houston, Ruther Glen, Va. 22546.
