    1. [DAVENPORT] King & Queen Co
    2. Just got back to COLD CT after spending a week in VA doing research. I am going to throw out my Davenport connection in this manner and maybe I will make a connection to someone this way. After checking all the surrounding records around Caroline Co, VA which is where my James Kidd was from, I have come to the conclusion that Elizabeth Carlton must have married John Davenport in King & Queen Co circa 1792. (Elizabeth was born in King & Queen Co.) SO does anyone connection to any Davenports that were in King & Queen Co in the latter part of the 1700's? Elizabeth and John Davenport had three children before she married my gggGrandfather James Kidd of Caroline Co. BUT, James must have been in another area of VA that I can't officially find him on record until his father died in 1802. By then, James and Elizabeth Carlton Davenport Kidd had had 3 more children. James died c. 1804. Elizabeth then married Peter Perry in 1808 in Halifax Co, VA (which is where the rest of her family had moved). They moved to KY (Christian Co) by 1813. So, please, if anyone can help me out with any Davenport family that lived in King & Queen Co in the late 1700's, I would greatly appreciate it. I reviewed all the info on Richard Davenport that was in Caroline Co but can't find a connection. BUT, the uncle of my James (Benjanmin Kidd) lived right next to Richard Davenport, so maybe it was a sibling or cousin of Richard that introduced James TO Elizabeth after she was a widow. HELP Please......any leads would be appreciated. Because of the "burned" record situation in King & Queen Co, I must rely on your help. Have a good day. Elaine Kidd O'Leary in freezing CT.
