Debbie, I was in the same position as you. My father was told as a child we were descended from Humphrey Davenport. I couldn't find the connection anywhere. I finally stumbled onto a census record that proved to be the missing piece. Lucretia sounds very familiar. I'm sure I've come across it during my search.
