It's just that the times don't match up too well with data I've collected so far, and I'd suspect that Ontario Co. is much farther north than the Kingston on Hudson, NY location of much of Humphrey Sr.'s life. Keep at it and I'm sure we'll discover a link there somewhere. Here's a descendancy chart for Humphrey Sr. that shows about 6 generations. Hope it pastes in here ok. It is not complete, but is mainly based on family records and some histories of the Morris Co. area. I've yet to find a family date or event that wasn't corroborated in the public records, which is most unusual.
