Lib: You might try locating some land records for your Floyd in Laurens and Greenville Co. S.C. to see if any other Devenport/Davenports own land close to him, quite possibly his father or brothers, etc. lived nearby. Also, have you tried the genealogical societies in those two counties? They might have marriage, death, census or burial records on file that would reveal Floyd's father's name. Good luck. MargoBelle
