Joy, I can't sort out all the Davenports/Devenports. I had lunch with Edna Crumpton Thomson in 1997, and she showed me the grave of Albert Pinckney Crumpton at Oak Hill Church cemetery in Greenville Co., SC. We have not been able to connect to this Crumpton line. Copy to Crumpton List and Davenport List. Lidie Boyce Crumpton (md James Talmage Crumpton) daughter-in-law of Mary ElizabethDavenport, had a Boyce cousin, John T. Boyce, who'd married Hettie Davenport. Again, these people were members of (and buried at)Fork Shaols Baptist Church. Is this one big Davenport family? Maybe that link would help... I don't have the dates on John T. and Hettie Davenport Boyce, as the obituary is not dated (cut out of the paper). They were of the generation of James Talmage, wife Lidie, and James's sister, Edna Crumpton Thompson. I also found the obituary of Mary Elizabeth Davenport Crumpton, bd 18 Mar 1874, dd Aug 1953. She was the daughter of William Davenport and Jane Roberts. She lived in Greenville County all her life, and is buried at Fork Shoals Baptist Church. I'd love more Davenport info. One more question - any relation between the two Thompsons thatmarried into the Crumpton family? Edna Crumpton married Archie Thompson, and her sister, Ellie, married Houston Thompson. Edna is currently living with Ellie's son. Thank you! Joy The above was sent to Dan Crumpton, email gen@Thomson.net
