The results have come back for two more Davenport DNA tests. The first (kit #8666 as seen on the DavenportDNA page) claimed to be an Abemarle Davenport - from Abemarle Co. NC. His results matched exactly 25 of 25 to the other participant that claimed Abemarle genealogy. So yes - they are related. They are also a 24 of 25 much with the two Thomas of Dorchester individuals. The odds are that these two groups had a common ancestor in the last 400-500 years. The second test - kit #8742 - is a puzzler. He claims genealogy back to Humphrey Davenport of Barbados in the 1600s. However, his results are so different from any Davenport and any other results in the FamilyTree DNA database, that it will require further study. As one individual said "This is the most unusual haplotype I have seen!" I am waiting for more information from that participant and some DNA people. In light of this information - we could use another Humphrey Davenport descendant to be tested. Anybody out there? A test has now been ordered for a Rev. John of New Haven descendant. Anyone interesting in donating to help pay for this test - please email me at [email protected] We now have 16 participants with results in for 10.
