Bud: Yes, more than a "tad slow". Participants mail their sample to FamilyTree DNA. FTDNA then collects the samples and prepares them. Every two weeks they send a batch to the University of Arizona lab. It is a "blind" test. The lab does not see any names. The 25 markers test is split into two parts - a 12 and a 13. The 12 is usually reported first with the 13 shortly afterwards. The whole process usually takes 4-6 weeks. In May the lab hired two new technicians who needed training. Also one of the senior tech guys got married and was out for a while. This caused some delays. Then two of five results that I expected in the end of May, which have not come in yet, needed to be retested at the lab. That happens in about 15% of the samples - first for us. Partial results for a later batch are in. The 13 are ready on five individuals, but we need the first 12 before results are reported. I have stayed in contact with FTDNA and been assured we should be getting something soon. Later tonight I will be reporting on a couple new results that came in this past week.
