Gerry<<<<<<<<<<< Gerry, Imho, I'd say, do not despair (g), in fact you are closer to the original Davenports than those here who are still working in the U.S. on tracing their roots, because sooner or later they also have to cross the ocean and find who it was in England that came to this country in the first place.- Even to this day, most of the Davenports live in the Cheshire/Derbyshire counties of England and that is because Wm. the Conqueror granted land in Cheshire to one of his knights.
