I don't think many would dispute that all humans are related, even those who don't believe we are descended from the Biblical Adam and Eve. DNA studies have shown that we came from a very small group of ancestors, some think only one female. Almost everyone who came from England is at least 10th cousins, probably much closer. The Davenport DNA project is trying to answer the question of how close various Davenport/Devenport families are related. Just because people have the same name, doesn't mean a common origin. It is obvious for names like Smith and Cooper, probably even Banks (side of a hill).
