    2. Bob Yes they were a prosporous bunch. This was Thomas's son John line that my wife, Mame, comes from. They were involved in horticulture, and very influential in Milton. Milton is just across the Neponset River, south from Dorchester and is a beautiful town. I don't know what line you are from. This line was very much involved in the Revolutionary War, the Suffolk Resolve House was there, Capt. Samuel Davenport served on the panel that tried the British in the Boston Massacre, etc. Dorchester Heights overlooked the British fleet in Boston Harbor, so all Davenports had a part. Russ

He moved to what is now Rhode Island where his descendents remained until after the Revolutionary War.
