To All Pamunkey Davenports: I have been talking to John Scott Davenport rergarding another field trip to Virginia. From what he has told me, he has found many new items of interest to us. The first one that comes to mind is that he has found out what happened to Philemon Davenport. It seems as though Philemon was killed in an accident and a slave was charged for his death, but subsequently the slave was found innocent. The point of this message is that we plan another trip to Virginia and headquarter again in Louisa. We plan plan to do some more work in Louisa, go to Richmond and dig out some data at the Library of Virginia, and visit the courthouses and local libraries in Hanover and Spotsylvania. John, if you please, chime in here and tell us if there is any more that you can add to what I have outlined above. At this time, we have $135.82 in the Pamunkey Davenport Family Assn. account. Several people in the past have offered to contribute for further research. Well, now is the time!! As in the past, all new data will be posted on our web site by Nevada Jack and/or reported by John Scott in a trip report. Please send all contributions to me, Billy Bob at the following address: Robert L. Davenport 401 Donna Drive Hopkinsville, KY 42240-5221
