I am from the Newberry line of Davenports: Francis b. 1651 in Salford, England > Isaac b. 1693 in Burlington Co., New Jersey> Francis b . abt. 1725 in Pennsylvania> James b. 1754 in Granville, North Carolina> Charles b. 1782 in Newberry Co., South Carolina> Sarah Caroline b. 1824 in Alabama and married to Taliaferro Lang Scogin b . 1809 in South Carolina. As a holiday present to any Davenport longing for a white Christmas, I will gladly send you as much snow as you would like to complete your "warm fuzzy feeling" free of charge --except for postage and probably some dry ice to keep the wet snow from melting until you receive it. Since the UPS (and all other mail servers) are still digging out themselves, not all packages have arrived here in Denver in time for Christmas, nor have all of our presents sent out arrived at their destinations. From what I understand from the news, there are still people waiting at DIA trying to get to their Christmas destinations! Fourth largest blizzard on record came blowing through on Wednesday and Thursday! As we had just shoveled our way to a limited freedom of travel on Christmas Eve for Church services, the snow began falling once more, luckily only flurries this time. It is really beautiful, in a Christmas card sort of way --and this is where we hope to see it next year--on a Christmas card! Hope everyone is enjoying a safe and warm time with friends and families and will have a healthy 2007! And remember, I really, really am serious! Free snow! Free snow! Did I mention that you are more than welcome to bring your snow shovels and collect it yourselves? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Jane Limerick Monroe
