    3. Two well researched sources for Thomas Davenport are, The New England Historic Genealogical Register, Volume 3, April 1849, page 189 which lists Thomas Davenport as a "Freeman" date the 18th of May 1642 in Massachusetts; the second article comes from The New England Historic Genealogical Register, Volume 5, October 1851, pages 394; 398 listing signers to a Petition of the Inhabitants of Dorchester, Massachusetts, October, 1664, where Thomas Davenport Sr. and Thomas Davenport, Jr. both had signed. On page 398 it gives pertinent genealogical data regarding Thomas Davenport Sr., wife and issues as well as Thomas Jr.'s will information. I might add the New England Historic Genealogical Society is a must for anyone researching New England Davenport lineages. I have a complete binder full of articles taken from their Registers on the Davenport family, Thomas, Richard as well as Rev. John. Finally, a complete Pedigree on the Davenport line was published in the NEHGS Register Vo! lume 9, April 1855 beginning with Orme Davenport covering three pages of lineage information
