Message text written by INTERNET:[email protected] >Hello everyone... As most of you already know, my Davenport site at DavenportAncestors.host12.com doesn't seem to be working. I am at a loss as to the cause of this problem. I've gotten no response on my numerous emails to support at the host company.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Upon going to the temporary website DavenportFamily.1colony I find myself with a questions for you. 1.) Note below, the statement that Orme de Davenport, also known as Orme de Aunceport, went from Normandy to England with William The Conquerer in 1086. It is said, not proven yet, that Orme & William were cousins. Shortly after their arrival in England, on 25 Dec 1086, William The Conquerer was crowned King of England . Don't know if this is a type but I know that William the Conqueror (born 1027) landed in England Sept.28, 1066 (not 1086). October 14th the Normans defeated the English at the Battle of Hastings, and William was crowned King of England that Christmas in Westminster Abbey. This leads to another question, i.e. if Orme landed with William the Conqueror in 1066 when his age would reasonably have been no younger than 18 or 20, - would he have fathered his first child Richard in 1136, which would make Orme at least 88 at the time of the birth. This is a little confusing and maybe I'm missing something here - OR, there could be a typo.
