Terri; Why don't you get a FREE site at Rootsweb? That is what I did 3 years ago. They give you unlimited web space (100 MB's and more if you ask for it). Plus other helpful features. You can use an online editor or FTP your files in. There will be a very small ad top and bottom of your page. Nothing popping up or flashing.
