Hi, I am Dottie Davenport Burkhart, granddaughter of Ira Lamar Davenport of Gaston County. My brother is the last in this line, and he has no children. If you know anything about the Gaston and Lincoln County NC Davenports, I wish you would share with me. Thanks, Dottie -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 10:43 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [DAVENPORT] Y DNA Testing Dear Folks: I'm terribly sorry but I simply haven't been keeping up with all the latest data on the Davenport subject. However, I AM from that lineage and it makes no difference to me if it's a large city, if we're related to people from the North, OR south. Those of us who bear that name are in all probability related in some way. But I do agree, that fine a work as Doc has done; no one is entitled to the exclusive honor of creating this particular discovery of this name. Each have in some way or another, contributed their own part in making this possible for each and every one of us. But, anyone wanting to bring me up to date on all that is transpiring, please feel free to do so. I welcome and encourage any conversation or contact from distance kin. Sincerely, Joan Underwood (Granddaughter of Nancy Lorraine Davenport married to John Kirkland approx 1825) ==== DAVENPORT Mailing List ==== The Pamunkey Davenport Chronicles are now available on CD.
