    3. Information on this can be found in the New England Historic Genealogical Society Register, Volume 9, April 1855, Pages 146-148 under the title, "Pedigree of Davenport, Compiled from Davenport's History and Genealogy of the Davenport Family" It begins with Ormus De Dauneporte, born 1086, to Richard de Dauneporte, born 1136 to Thomas de Davenporte, living in the time of Henry II and so forth. This can be accessed at www.newenglandancestors.org if you are a member of the society. [email protected] wrote:Wini & all- Thank you for pointing that info out. You're right, with those dates, I highly doubt if they are correct. I've seen Orme's date of birth differ in research. Our site says he was born ca 1066. I've also seen frequently that he was born 1034. At this point, I'm not sure. Orme's birth at 1034 and his son Richard's birth at 1136 leaves alot of room and now makes Orme 102 years old when he fathered Richard. Physically impossible, no? Now that makes me think that perhaps there are one and quite possibly two generations missing. However, if Orme were born 1066, then I can't believe he was with William The Conquerer in that same year (amazing baby). Can anybody enlighten me on this situation? Sure could use some help with this. Would anyone like to write a historical and educational piece on William The Conquerer? I'd like to have more on that era available on our website. I'd prefer that it be historically accurate. If you'd like to write this piece for the site, email me at: [email protected] Thank you for the history lesson, it was much needed.....cuzzin Teri http://DavenportFamily.1colony.com ==== DAVENPORT Mailing List ==== For instructions on unsubscribing or searching the list archives visit: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nvjack/davnport/group.htm ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
