In order to have Y chromosome testing you must: 1. Be a male. (Women have no Y chromosome). If you want to use the data to say anything about Davenports, you must: 2. Be surnamed Davenport. (I have a Y, but not the Davenport Y, since my name is BANKS. It would do no good to test my Y.) Therefore, this concerns only males surnamed Davenport/Devenport. If women are interested, they have to find a male brother/uncle/cousin named Davenport. I'm sure they would give you a mouth swab if you agree to pay for the testing.
