    1. [DAVENPORT] DNA participation

    3. Greetings to all! It has been a very long time since I last corresponded with the core group of Davenport researchers! I am happy to once again have some time to get back into completing some work. I saw in the archives that you are actively collecting DNA for the Davenport surname. Can someone please send me the contact info for getting the information regarding costs, etc. I love the idea of working to connect the dots, so to speak, of our Pamunkey Davenports with other (English) groups (if possible). I will have to persuade a cousin to participate (male lineage), but I will try to get a willing subject! Having successfully "shooed the birdies from the nest" and relocated in an area to call home (former military family) I look forward to catching up with everyone. Speaking of the "little birdies" - my youngest, a US Marine of 3 yrs. was just selected into the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Education (MECEP) program. His desire is to attend either the Univ. of Virgina or Virginia Tech and major in history (maybe my genealogical research helped this interest?). My reason to add this is to request assistance from anyone who may have a connection with either school and who could assist with the right connections - it would be forever appreciated. I did see where the baseball field for UVA is named for Thomas "Ted" Edward Davenport. Does anyone know which Davenport line this gentleman is connected to? FYI - when visiting the Marine officer in charge at UVA my son was told that a MECEP student has not been accepted since 1998. Thank you all for the work that has been contributed, especially to Doc for his continued work. Most sincerely, Angela Groenhout Maryville, TN ____________________________________________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo!
