Hi, Alinda. I joined this list so long ago that I almost don't remember why I joined the list. I think that it was because of an interview that is found in the Draper Manuscripts. I think that it was among John Shane's interviews in KY.....and as I say, I almost forget....perhaps my memory is even wrong....but as I recall it was a piece of information about someone related to an Indian massacre/capture event that happened in Greenbrier County, VA (now WV) in 1763. I just can not pull up the information right this minute. But that said I have a comment on the below. Probably the Hawkins lines that you mention below are related to my Hawkins line found in Culpeper/Orange/Spotsylvania Counties in the 1700's. I have just found through DNA results in the past two or three years that I am related to many of the Hawkins lines that are found in the area that I describe as being a circle with the middle in Lexington. Owen County would definitely qualify.....If your husband's Hawkins family is related to these many Hawkins's, you can consider group #1 of the Hawkins DNA project to represent your husband's line as well.
