To Doc & All, I have tried unsuccessfully to find out where my Stephen Pierce Davenport, son of Joseph A. & Lucy A. Carter, was born and where he married Susan Jane George b:1851. I had her parents as Levi George & Elizabeth Jane Franklin, however my research has led me to believe that this is incorrect. That is what my parents had on the original family tree I started with years ago. They probably got this info from Davenport relatives, my great-grandfather, Stephen's son, and his siblings. The story is that Stephen & Susan, left NC around 1880 and headed north. They had some of their 8 children in NC, buried one on the way, and the rest were born here in Howard Co., IN where I live today. If anyone has any info on this line, which goes back to Davis, I would greatly appreciate filling in the blank spots. Thanks Tam
