Best wishes to all and God Bless America, Jack **************************************** NAME: Linda Graham EMAIL: Lindag1947@comcast.net FROM: Centerville, Utah, USA LINEAGE: I am searching for the ancestry of Art Pomeroy, my friend, whose mother was Francis Elizabeth Davenport,( b. 1913 PA, d. 1974 Erie, PA). She was the daughter of Arthur Taylor Davenport (b. 1880 Crawford Co., PA, d. 1962) and Mariah Blanche Cook (b. 1877 Potter Co., PA, d. 1969 Erie, PA); Arthur was the son of James L. Davenport, (b.1850, Crawford Co., PA; d. 1912, Crawford, PA) and James' wife Ida Amelia Taylor (b. 1853, Chautauqua Co, NY; d. 1925, Erie, PA.) James was the son of Henry H. Davenport (b. 1821 Tompkins co., NY; d. 1891 Crawford, PA). Henry's wife was Elizabeth McDowell, (b. and d. in Crawford, PA, 1828-1910). Henry was the son of Solomon Davenport (b. 1795 Tompkins co., NY, d. 1870 Crawford, PA) and Solomon's wife Nancy Van Order (b. 1794 Passaic, NJ, d. 1883, Crawford, PA ). Here's where our line breaks down. Solomon is said to be the son of Henry Davenport and his wife "Jezewith", but I have no definite sources for this conjecture. As you see, I haven't even gotten back far enough to tie into any of your wonderful lines! If anyone knows anything about these Pennsylvania Davenports, I would be glad to share what I have as the line comes forward from Solomon (children, siblings, wives, etc.) for solid information about Solomon's father. Thank you!
This branch can be found in the Humphrey of Barbados line. >http://www.humphreydavenport.1hwy.com/index.html< Solomon is #89. However, there are Thomas of Dorchester descendents in Tompkins County, New York too. I'll contact Linda separately as suggested.
