    3. Hi. I am Dianne Davenport and I was born in Gilmer County, Georgia and am currently living here. David M. Davenport was brother to Thomas C. Davenport, who was my ancestor, (both sons of David and Dorothy Baker Davenport). I believe that David M. Davenport and his wife Rebecca both died in Gilmer County, but I have been unable to locate their graves - probably unmarked as so many are. My records are at home, but I believe David M. and Rebecca are both in the 1870 and 1880 census for Gilmer County, Georgia. I have searched for a will, but have not found one for either of them. Question: Why was he in McMinn County, TN during the 1860 census. Also, was David M. in the civil war and was he captured at Cumberland Gap? Does anyone know with which unit he served? I do know that two of David M Davenport brothers died in Chicago as prisoners of war. I have documentation of that if anyone wants it. Sorry I do not have any information about William David and his family. 3. Hi Diane, Thanks for your information. I know very little about him except he was a grandson of Capt. Martin Davenport, of King's Mountain. I did go to Shooting Creek community one afternoon and only saw one cemetery and no one to ask about the Davenports. David and Dorothy may be in unmarked graves too. Please e-mail me es720@bellsouth.net if you'd like to discuss this further. Thanks, Elaine ----- Original Message ----- From: "D Davenport" <ddavenp706@hotmail.com> To: <davenport@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 06, 2006 3:48 PM Subject: Re: [DAVENPORT] William David Davenport and Margaret Ramey > Hi.
