I received it. Jane L. Monroe ----- Original Message ----- From: Jack<mailto:nvjack@nvbell.net> To: davenport@rootsweb.com<mailto:davenport@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 07, 2006 9:20 PM Subject: [DAVENPORT] A message from Doc Cousins: Doc sent the message below to the list but never received confirmation that it was received. I suspect that RootsWeb is having problems with their new email program. Please let me know if you received Doc's message via the list. I can tell you that I did not. Jack PAMUNKEY & OTHERS INTERESTED: Our thanks to Kyle Davenport for putting us straight in this regard: If you've got an Isaac Davenport marrying an Elizabeth Diggs in Amherst County, Virginia, in 1789, toss it out. Amherst Diggs/Digges Family records have parents for an Elizabeth, her birthdate, her marriage date, and her death date. She married Isaac Darnielle. How Darnielle, even in extremely illegible script could be taken for Davenport, we know not, but it was and became Davenport gospel. We can affirm that no tracks have been found for an Isaac Davenport among 18th Century Pamunkeys, in Amherst or elsewhere in Virginia, and are appreciative in being able to cross him off the list of untraced family members. So, if you have an Isaac Davenport in the list of children attributed to Joseph Davenport (c1740-1817?) of Amherst, eldest son of Richard Davenport of Albemarle, who was the eldest son of Richard Davenport, Sr., of Caroline, who was the second son of Davis Davenport of King William, the Pamunkey Patriarch, cross him out. Glad to be rid of THAT Davenport. I need an Isaac and he seemed like a good bet when I ever get out of New Orleans. Thanks for the information. Ellen Eanes Bethel

Hello Cousin I think, I live in Bedford, Va. Va. Tech and UVA. are wonderful schools. I wouldn't care which school my child attended. If there is a leaning toward engineering I would go to Tech. Then it wouldn't matter which school I chose. Have family that have graduated from both of the schools. My ancestor is Thomas Davenport, Senator from Halifax county. I'm from Mary Varner that he did not marry but had children by her. Have a wonderful day. Viola T. Skinnell
