I have copies of a couple of deeds where John Waller deeded some land to his daughter Elizabeth and specifically omitted her husband. I have no further info on the children of John and Elizabeth. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dianna Rose <drose@searnet.com> To: <DAVENPORT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 1999 9:08 PM Subject: Re: [DAVENPORT] John & Elizabeth Waller > Mary: > > The county seat of Clark County is Winchester, Kentucky. According to the Will there was a son John. So one of those your mentioned could be that son. I am not from KY but have researched a bit there. Will check further and see if the John ties in. Can someone help me find the other three Febuary 1st babies that would have been born before Winnie? Leona Miles rmiles@bloomingdaletel.com
Mary: The county seat of Clark County is Winchester, Kentucky. I am unsure where you are located, so I may be giving you a geography lesson you don't need -- Clark, Bourbon, Scott, and Fayette Counties are in central Kentucky (other counties are considered central Kentucky too but these are in close proximity to each other). I believe there were at least two (maybe more) John Wallers in Kentucky at the same time. A John T. shows up on the 1850 Clark County census and a John L. shows up on the 1850 Woodford County census. Since the will was dated 1826, John L. may not be the same person since he is still listed in the 1850 census. Perhaps this could be his son. I don' t know if this information helps -- I hope it does! Ginger, here is the information that I have on my Davenports. My grandmother's name was Aileen Davenport. I have been told her date of birth was May 24, (this is my son's birthday) I believe the year would have been around 1908. She lived in Cleveland, Ohio, married there and had three children, one of which is my mother. I know she left them at a young age and was a Ziegfeld Follies girl. She also imitated Charlie Chaplin. Apparently, her mother sang opera. I have no name for her. I believe some of my relatives know more information but say they no nothing. I have lately found a web site for the Follies Girls and I did find an Aileen Haley, maybe she changed her last name? I sent an Email to the author but received no reply. I have sent various EMails to other Davenport subscribers but have turned up nothing. Who knows, some of them could be my relatives and I don't know it. If you would like send me the info you have and if anything sounds familiar from my searches, I'll let you know. Good luck! Mary Duncan - I don't know anything about my Emma Jane Davenport except that she married Phillip Adkins and had a daughter named Emma Jane Adkins in 1889 (approx) who is my gg-grandmother. Nor do I know anything about Phillip except that he died in 4 Feb 1911 and Emma Jane (his wife) died on 28 May 1900. Both died in OKLAHOMA though Emma Jane (daughter) was born in Rippey, Greene CTY, IA. Do you have any connections. . . however faint to the above Emma? or Jane? or Emma Jane? Davenport? A few weeks ago a couple of people mentioned connections to Dardanelle, Arkansas. I am connected to that area on the other side of my family and would be interested in seeing if we have a non-Davenport - or maybe I have Davenports on both sides! - connection. If you are interested, e-mail me privately at: 104755.1222@compuserve.com Thanks so much! Donna Davenport

I am new to this site and am really working on my Davenport line-which I have been told is quite mixed up the further back we go. I have also been told to follow the Newberry line to get to the correct route, so I would be very interested in any help I can get from what you have found!! At this point, I don't really know what to ask for, so anything is a help. It is beginning to fall into some semblance of order. Jane Guffin, R. Hi Ginger, I too have been trying to locate my Davenport ancestors..almost a year now. The only name I have is my maternal grandmothers which I never met. I believe mine were from Ohio, I know my grandmother lived there and had three children. She left when they were very young and any information regarding her seems to be a secret too. I have looked into all of the information have on her but keep hitting a brick wall.
