I didn't think to ask the buyer what church, because as far as I know the Springers were not Quakers. They descended from Germans turned Swedes, so more than likely not a Quaker among them. My Davenport line (which I just recently found traces back to the Pamunkey branch -- thanks again, Doc*) were Dunkards until my great-grandmother remarried. But my ggreat-grandmother remained a member until her death in 1940. Thanks for the offer tho :-) Ginger

In Charlotte Meldrum's Introduction in this book, she states that "According to Woodward and Hageman the 230 Quakers, half from Yorkshire and half from London, landed in the ship, Kent, in 1677. Burlington Monthly Meeting was established in 1678. The importance of Burlington in Quakerism becomes obvious when noting that the Yearly Meeting between 1690 and 1760, met alternately at Burlington adn Philadelphia until it was permanently established at Philadelphia. 1. [DAVENPORT] Burlington, NJ Davenports (Quakers)
    2. This aren't mine, but thought they might belong to someone on the list. Early Church Records of Burlington County, New Jersey, Charlotte D. Meldrum, Family Line Publications Westminster, MD, 1994 Page 68: Issac Decow requests a certificate to proceed in marriage with Anne Davenport of Chersterfield, 5th day, 1st mo. 1704/5. Page 67: Francis Davenport and Rebecca Decow proposed the 2nd time, 3da, 8th mo, 1692. Page 80: ELizabeth Davenport acknowledges marrying out 3rd da, 9th mo, 1759. Page 127: Elizabeth Davenport granted a certificate to Philadelphia Monthly Meeting. These were all apart of the Burlington Monthly Meeting - House of the Society of Friends. This book is an abstraction.

    3. Dear Marta, The following children of Martin Winn Davenport wound up in Madison County, Arkansas: 1. Harriet Louise, M. Reubin Lafayett Whitmire. 2. George Henry, M. Nancy Louisa Ledford. 3. Nancy , M. #1 James Ledford. 4. Martha Elizabeth, M. Miles Cobb Whitmire. Also, Joseph Martin married in Washington County, Arkansas then went to Baker County, Oregon. Martin Winn was the son of David Davenport and Dorothy Ann Baker. David was the son of Martin Davenport and Jane Browning. I don't find a James Isaac, Davis, or Ianthia in my files. At least you'll know, if you come across this group in your research, that they probably aren't the group your looking for. Good Luck, Lee
