A Lady from the DAR said that every Dougherty in Orange Co. Ind. was a direct descendant of Capt John and Isabell. Sooo who do therse two belong to.?? Hazel Dougherty b. 1816 census says N. C. he married Ruth Johnson in Aug. 29, 1839. Orange Co Ind. Michael Dougherty that married Lydia Johnson in Orange Co Ind. June 18, 1836??? Are they the two missing sons of Henry.??? Henrys first and second wife both came form N. C. Henry married in Ky first and Michael was born in 1808 in Ky.??? Did he make a trip back in 1816 and Hazel was born then?? Most of the other sons of Capt John are accounted for. Henry is the one that every one seems to have forgotten Michael signed the papers for Cynthia's bond as did James Smith was one her step son and the other her son-in-law? Is Michael a twin to Isabell ? Does any one have the answer to this. I wait ever day for new clues and have waited for years I started this tracing my parents families in 1954. and am still where I was then about the James T.
