I've got several Daugherty's in Oklahoma, mainly Durant, Bryan County and Tulsa, Tulsa County, OK. Re: the spelling of the name...I had also heard that the spelling should also include O'Daugherty. Looking for burial place for William H. Daugherty and his wife, Sarah Delashaw Daugherty. We have locations on several of the children of this couple...they are my great-great grandparents. Probably burial place is somewhere in the Durant, OK area. There are at least two of their children buried in Highlands Cemetery....one of them being my great grandfather John Q. Daugherty Sr. and his wife, Frances Gazelle Essex Daugherty, along with her parents Albert Essex and Mary Susan Apple Essex. Several other family members in the same cemetery and/or plot as well.... Will be making a road trip to OK this weekend, hoping to have the headstone photos to post soon. Have a good weekend...
