A Reuben Daughety is buried in Choctaw County, AL, and appears to have been too old for military service in the Civil War. My GGGrandfather William Daughety, d. about 1890 in Fayette Co. TN had a son Reuben, probably the one mustered out in TN. I have found no other trace of him. My GGrandfather was Nathan, his siblings had Bibical names as was common with Protestant Scots-Irish of the time, and the oft-repeated names confuse searches. Some Tennessee CSA regiments were paroled in NC and I may have kin there. I am looking for Reuben Daughety, b. about 1840 in TN, served in TN CSA regiments. Does anyone have information on when the Daughety variation started?
