No, I don't have the Darnell Books -- but following is some info gleaned from Howard Hearskell Darnell, a descendant of James & Margaret, and other sources. James was the son of David Darnell -- 1773 -- 1851. I really can't say if Linda was ever adopted by John. I am still working on this line. Matter of fact, I just watched a movie about Zorro, starring Tyrone Power & Linda Darnell. Roll Call: I am researching James Hunt b. ab. 1771 md. Susannah Darnell b. ab. 1773 both died in Rockcastle County, KY. Susannah was the daughter of Abraham and Mary Ann Nelson Darnell. Abraham Darnell was the son of Abraham, Sr. and Elizabeth Darnell. I know that Abraham and Mary Ann died about 1802 and 1822, respectively. Abraham died in Virginia and Mary Ann died in Lincoln County, KY. More dates would be greatly coveted. Mary Alice Hunt mhunt@kih.net

I am looking for the origins of Joseph Daley and any of his descendants. I am also researching my grandfather, Charles Daley, b. 27 April 1859, d. 9 March 1921. He was a long time newspaper man, owning the Port Tobacco Times until November 1889 and at the time of his death was the Financial Editor of the Baltimore Sun. I'd love to hear from anyone who's working on the same line. Darnall Daley

I am researching Abraham Darnell who was married to Mary Ann(believe to be Nelson) all from Virginia. They had a daughter, Susannah who married James Hunt and several other children, Nelson ,Lucy, etc. Nelson went to Lincoln COunty, KY and James and Susannah Darnell Hunt came to Rockcastle COunty, KY. Their mother, Mary Ann Darnell came to Lincoln County, KY as I found an estate settlement there. Would like to find the parents or Abraham Darnell and either participation in American Revolution by service in military or patriotic service. I would also like to know info on the Darnell Mental Hospital in Lexington, KY. Was it started by our Darnells? Mary Alice mhunt@kih.net

Hi all Darnell cousins, I have been lurking about for a while but wanted to find what information I could about my Darnell line before asking for help from all of you. At this point, I am only back to my great great grandparents. So, I am hoping someone either has additional information or could pit me in the right direction. Before I get to the ancestor part, though, I am interested in a "Darnell" book that has been on the list from time to time. How might I obtain a copy of same? Here goes: requesting information on Abraham Monroe DARNELL born 20 Sept 1823 in Virginia and died 4 June 1884 in Cambridge, Cowley County, Kansas (he was gored by a bull) spouse: Nancy Anndasia MOORE WYANT born 26 Aug 1834 in Nicholas County, Kentucky and died 30 July 1904 in Cambridge, Cowley County, Kansas. Their son, James Monroe DARNELL (born 29 July 1868 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois and died 13 May 1931 in Wewoka, Oklahoma), was my great grandfather. I would appreciate any and all information on any and all of these folks and their siblings/ancestors. Thanks so much for your time and your help. Sincerely, Linda DARNELL HUBBARD LSHUBBARDFAMILY@webtv.net
