"Lord Please Bless My Computer" anon. Every night I lie in bed This little prayer inside my head God bless my mom and my dad and bless my children and take care of my spouse Who brings me so much joy... God there is one more thing I wish that you would do if you don't mind my asking to bless my 'puter' too?? Now I know that it's not normal to bless a small machine but listen just a second And I'll try to explain... You see, that little metal box holds more than odds and ends Inside those small components Rest a hundred loving friends. Some it's true I've never seen And most I've never met... never shaken hands or Ever truly hugged, and yet... I know for sure they love me by the kindness that they give, And this little scarp of metal is how I get to where they live. By faith is how I know them, Much the same as I know you. I share in life it brings them, So if it's OK with you... Just take an extra minute from your duties up above... to bless this hunk of steel that's filled with so much love. So God, bless my Puter...
I agree with Bud. I personally have not found my "Darnell" connection, but by chance I stay subscribed, in case I do, and ignore the messages that don't pertain to me. Awiusdi, those were some hurtful words said to you and uncalled for. I love your new pages, they are really coming along fine. I go to your pages just about everyday now and follow your links and search and read. You have come through so much this year and you kept things online for us. If I had not found you, I still would not know about the Darnells, I had no idea Darnells were in my line and I thank you for all the work you have done to bring us together and get the information out to us. Hang in there---I STILL LOVE YOU! Gayle
I have a question - What does "Awiusdi" stand for? Is it a name or a moniker? I haven't spoken up sooner, but that's because I have over 400 e-mails, and I haven't been able to read everything. I have 3 other lists that have to do with grief/loss. No one offers a course on making a group, these are people who want to make the world a better place. I do appreciate all the work, and I can't even begin to imagine how much time must be put in each day, week and then the monthly totals... I'm an "idiot" genealogist, I'm kicking back a bit and waiting to met family, but with a new job I haven't done the work. I "bummed into" my aunt, and I don't remember if it was this list or not, we knew each other existed, but not that we were both looking for our heritage, while keeping the memories of the recently departed alive. Once again, thank you, Donna Darnell Sanceau PS, I know that the different site that are listed I only goto the ones that are interesting to me. I don't goto the Christian site, as it's not my interest, but I'm glad that those with similar interests can share their ideas, and hard work :)

I have to step in and say a big "Thank You" to the Darnall list, and the list owner for finding my husband's Darnall linage. While I was digging around with a teaspoon, Awiusdi had the resources to research, and she did. Our line is DAVID, MORGAN, DAVID, JEREMIAH, MOSES, JORDAN, JONES, GEORGE WASHINGTON, and CARRIE MYRTLE DARNALL. Awiusdi is a warm, caring person who shares her life with all the Darnall family. She has researched the best way to get all our information onto the web for all to share. In the last year, she has moved from Oklahoma to Washington State, found it necessary to move back, and yet she kept the list and communication intact. That takes determination, dedication, and perseverance. She also has to be thick skinned enough to take these slams. Is anyone giving her help and suggestions on how to set up the site, chat room, and communication easier? Are we builders, or a destruction crew? What have I done to help build the Darnall line? I have sent private E- Mails of encouragement and copied and mailed Darnall information I have found. Not much at all in the light of what Awiusdi has done, and continues to do even while moving across the US. There are many silent people on the list. They are called the "Silent Majority". Many of you are sitting back, waiting to see how much flack hits the fan, and what the end result will be. Now is the time to speak out, whether on the list, or privately. Don't wait until our list owner crumbles under the weight of despondency from a few ungrateful subscribers and shuts down the list. If you find it valuable, let her know. Perhaps we won't "strike gold" every month. But eventually, with determination, we will find that missing link to our past. Merry Christmas and Best Wishes to all for a Blessed and Prosperous 1999. Barbara
I wish to interject thoughts here. I for one have found this list providing ample information on my family lineage in spite of the fact that I have not posted any of it. Suddenly there is such mean spirited, sarcastic criticism being voice that one wonders where the source is. Do each of you people really believe that your devisive thoughts are helpful and make one want to belong to your family? Personally I hope I do not belong to any of your family lines cause you are not very nice people. One must also remember that the last few months of each year seem to be busier. My experience is that any research seems more fruitful during the first 6 months of each year. Myself, being disabled, have had all I could handle the past several months and have been printing and stacking all the research that has come in. My plans are to organize and input data to my program and various lists after the first of the year. I would imagine many people are the same. If anyone feels the need to quit a list then do so but please do not be vile and nasty about it. Think about how you make others feel before speaking. Are your thoughts so important that you truly want to hurt others in order to get your point across? Descendant of Dr. Davis, Morgan, Morgan, John, John, Zachiariah, Zachiariah and Joseph - Jacque
Thank you so much for your support. I sure appreciate it. I dont know why all the sudden some people are so miserable, nothing has changed other than good things. Who knows. I really dont like to make other people unhappy but there are times when a person has to stand their ground. I try my best to create pages that will lead to information for people to do their research and I know I can only have on my pages the things people send to me. I respect their lives and their privacy. I am currently trying to fix my pages,,,,I run into one brick wall after another but I will get it. I love the people on my lists and I care about their genealogy search and their personal lives. I can only do so much I am only human. Hello to all! I would like to take a moment and thank Awiusdi for all of her hard work in putting this list together. She has made available to us all of the information she has come across and has noted other places where we might able to find more. I, personally, have come to a standstill on my line. The time will come when new information comes to light and I will be here waiting for it and/or sharing it. I have been able to go as far back as I have because of this list and I have no plans to leave. I think setting up the chat room was a wonderful idea and it took a great deal of time and effort on Awiusdi's part to do it. She has done everything possible to improve our chances of finding the information we need -- even during difficult times of illness. I am grateful for her efforts. I hope all those who are also having a difficult time will hang in there with us. May you all have a truly wonderful Christmas/Holiday Season!! Best wishes, Elaine Corson elainec@stinger.net

I concur with Betty when she said: >It sounds like critiquing is not allowed and it's "my way or the highway". >I sincerely believe a Darnall/Darnell list is a good idea for serious >genealogical research based on hard evidence. I am truly sorry I did not find >that open, investigative atmosphere for discussion and dissemination of >genealogical information with this organization. I have been subscribing to this particular list for about six months or so...and I have yet to see any semblence of geneological information. If I was interested in the travels of "Ozzie and Harriett", I would join a travel club...regrettably, I somehow mistook the Darnell List a geneology forum....Oooops, my fault. I have even posted a few querries, and to no avail. Yet, I somehow get all the "low down" on the Darnell/Darnall chat rooms. In light of how things are discussed in this forum, I can just imagine the intellectual probing going on in a chat mode. Please, "Unsubscribe" me, in light of not being allowed to express any other thoughts relating to geneology, or serious discussion other than that of travels, or insipidous chat discussions. Perhaps Betty is right on target, or the listowner would not have been so irate. Definatly we are looking at a Totalitarian run list serve. A D Pittman Regret
In a message dated 98-12-12 07:30:39 EST, you write: << If you have a problem with the way the list is ran, unsubscribe. >> Note taken. It sounds like critiquing is not allowed and it's "my way or the highway". I sincerely believe a Darnall/Darnell list is a good idea for serious genealogical research based on hard evidence. I am truly sorry I did not find that open, investigative atmosphere for discussion and dissemination of genealogical information with this organization. Betty Cowdery
