Wanda Wanda, Neither of those names are mentioned in either volume of the Darnall, Darnell Family. sorry. Darnall Daley
I just got a booklet from Linda Simons that may shed some light on the subject of Col Henry Darnall's first wife. Col Herny Darnall's children were: 1. Philip Darnall, b. about 1671, d. 1705 2. Mary Darnall b. 1678, d. 1742, married Charles Carroll the Settler, the grandfather of Charles Carroll of Carrollton. 3. Ann Darnall b. 1680, d. 1742, married Clement Hill 4. Henry Darnall II, b. 1682, d. about 1759 5. Elizabeth Darnall, d. 9 May 1705. Eleanor Hatton was Col. Henry Darnall's second wife. She married first Thomas Brooke who died in 1676. The booklet that I've just gotten is: "Darnell History -- Letters and Notes" collected by G. B. Darnall. p. 15 "Col. Henry Darnall, married, first Mary, daughter of Richard and Margaret Hatton. She was alive in 1687. (Will of Robert Lee, dated Dec. 25, 1687. "Mrs. Eleanor Brooke, her sister, Mary Darnall and Col. Henry Darnall, executors.")" If Mary was his first wife then: Was she alive in 1687? If so then all the children would appear to be hers. Do we have any more evidence about when she died? Can we verify the will of Robert Lee? Who was he? Do we have any evidence of the marriage date of Col. Henry and Eleanor? Do we have any evidence as to the existance of Mary Hatton, sister of Eleanor Hatton? All very interesting. I hope to hear from someone on this. Darnall Daley
Thank you for your reply and the lookup on Sinah Darnall. Wanda
I am looking for any information available on Sinah DARNELL, b 1811, and married to Mason Lilliard ANDERSON. I don't know the state of residency. Thank you. Wanda

Kathy- Your generations are a bit off I think. The first David Darnall married Margritt and had four sons that we know of . This is known from Margriit's deed of 1702 to her sons: Morgan born about 1678 David born about 1680 Joseph born about 1682 Waugh born about 1684 Now, the son David, born about 1680, had three sons that we know of : Abraham born about 1713 Isaac born about 1715 Jacob born about 1717 Tim Ferrier
Kathy- According to Avlyn Dodd Conley, who compiled the Darnell book, we do not know where David Darnall was born. It could have been England, Maryland, or Virginia. We do know that he was in St. Mary's County, MD in the mid 1680's and then later in Stafford County, VA and Richmond County, VA where he died in 1702. His son David was born around 1680, probably in MD, and died around 1741, probably in Spotsylvania, VA. We do not know his wife's name. Tim Ferrier
A "Darnell/Darnall" Association would be helpful. I, too, belong to a similar type association...."The Phelps Connection," and the newsletter provides useful information, census records etc.... The fees are moderate, around $15 or $20, which covers the cost of the newsletter (offset printing) and postage. The newsletter comes out 6 times per year. ---Stephen Phelps.
