    3. (Welcome to your extended family Ashley......Dad) Folks, Anyone connect to this line of McKenzie-Brewer..????? http://www.rootsweb.com/~tndigs/margaret.htm Margaret was Nicholis's 1st wife.........and I'm going to be a little 'brutal' here.....so don't flame me...(Nicholis went on to go thru 2 more wives.....before .....he had answer for his sins ...) Margaret was named after her grand-mother who immigrated to Wilmington, N.Carolina in 1774 from Scotland, where she had been reduced to 'bleeding' her and Gilberts' cattle and drinking their blood in order not to starve to death..... Margaret married Nicholis Brewer, Jr. in late April of 1838 on Sugar Creek <near Big Sandy> in the new Benton County......she gave him 9 known children in the FIRST 14 years, that they were married... before she died in 1859.....possibly at child-birth.......and for you women out there...you know that.... that is a pretty good feat....for any women.... Did she love him that much...?? Did she think it was her 'duty' ???...Was she a 'nut'..???........I don't the answer.....something just 'rubs me' the wrong way here about this relationship.....(you need to know that Nancy, Margaret's next younger sister, married Nicholis's younger brother, Daniel.....they had 5 kids in 10 years of marriage before Daniel died prematurely at age 29 in 1843)....... Here's the 'rub'........and my angst..... When Margaret died in 1859 at age 38......Nicholis buried her alone....... in the 'No Name Cemetery" in N. Benton County where the only other interments are a Slave and a Baby........Why ?????? Why there..??? The McKenzie family had large land holdings along the Pointe Road with a family cemetery at Willow Point along New Hope Road where all the other early McKenzies, some of the Beatons, ....whatever...... have been buried....... Why 'No Name"...??? Why alone...??? Your thoughts........ Dave
