Jan, Try the eastern isle of the UK....Irish....they came later to build the Railroads out of New England in the 1850's... Another story......with the Butlers who built Ira's RR's.....HE can HELP you with the McElroy's.....ask him...he's got some good history here..... Also, check the 'Special' 1850 RR Census......Look to the Benton Co. Website for an example.......
