HMMMM...well my gg grandmother was Philadelphia McElroy, dau of James McElroy and Rebecca Stokes. He was born about 1789 in Rockingham Co. NC. James was son of William McElroy and Mary Polly Hopkins of same. William was son of Archibald McElroy of Scotland who died they say, at King's Mountain, and Ann Aston. Archibald's parents were James McElroy and Sarah McCune of Va after arriving from across the pond in 1730 on the "George and Ann". They came with Irvines and McDowells. YOU KIN??
