It is good to see this list moving again...its purpose is absolutely one that has to be....and that vision was seen a long long time ago by Dan and Dave, long time before most of us ever showed up on the web. It has to do with "crossings" all right...originally the crossing paths of ancestors, and how we could lose them in one place and have them turn up in another...the reason why all the county lists need to work with this one. But it grew into something else...crossing...of all of us, our paths crossing and re-crossing, and sometimes crossing bridges. We are about to cross a bridge folks, a BIG bridge...a fire has been lighted. The dream of long ago has had an ember catch a breath of new air....and when it did, it lit up a bridge we hadn't been looking for. We are about to embark on a dream here....folks? Who wants to be part of the dream? Hmmm? Who wants to be sure that anyone, ANYone needing records in this area...finds them, immediately, where ever they are in the world? Well do you want to just use them and be the amen corner? Or do you want to help provide them? Waiting here...cause this is going to take a lot of folks. We want to transcribe, anything, everything, all that will make it all available...who is willing to bite the bait and start making this happen? jan

I've been a member of this list for a couple of years, but hadn't visited the Benton County web site for awhile. I know y'all do a lot of work on that, too. I was soooo excited recently to find a bit about my grandfather and grandmother's (Joe and Ethel Goodman) old homeplace up by Pilot's Knob. I love the fact that stories have been collected, not just names, dates, and facts. I haven't found that on other web sites. Thanks to you all for the work that you do. Let me see how the next month pans out and maybe I could transcribe just a little.
