Historical Society NEWS RELEASE STEWART COUNTY FAMILY HISTORY BOOK The Stewart County Historical Society's Book Committee has worked hard on the book entitled History and Families of Stewart County, Tennessee Volume II. It should be off the press this fall (October or November). We have already sold almost 900 books. This large hardbound book will contain aspects of the county's history that was not covered in depth in Volume I (1980). Schools, churches, businesses and organizations will be included. The bulk of the approximately 550 page book will be about 1,050 family biographies of Stewart County people and their ancestors. The society is publishing the book with Rose Publishing Company of Humboldt, Tennessee which specializes in county family history books and pictorial histories. The society is still taking orders for the book. The price is $65 plus $5.35 tax (TN RESIDENTS ONLY) and $5.00 shipping, if mailed. Dale (Edwards) Young, chairperson of the book committee, says there are still a few pages available for memorials. If you wish to remember a family member who is deceased, or purchase a page to honor a living relative, please e-mail her immediately.
