    3. <sigh> Well Marietta, I hear you. I began this venture "for real" having no time, energy or otherwise to travel to the archives, libraries and courthouses where the records are. And when I get a "hit" I am excited, even if it is through a list or off a webpage...AND I plug it into my FTM. Why? Because it will be a bit longer before I can check it out (and never on what is not primarily of interest to me), and if I just stack it in a corner waiting until it is "absolute and concrete" I will lose half of it and never see some actual very real clues in the relationships itself that it is correct! Do I accept it as gospel? Do I present it to my family as absolute and concrete? Of course not! But I enjoy it and put it in just the same....along with the information on where I got it....and someday it will be a good CLUE (and much of it FACT!) for me to go to prove it...and what I don't get proven in my lifetime, it will be a good clue for my descendents to use to prove it. So I think that is what most of us do. I think we all know nothing is gospel unless you hold it in your own two little paws and see it with your own eyes (and THEN we don't know but what who wrote it down had a bad day, or wrote it down "later" and forgot the facts)....but I agree, who has time, or money to travel all those places??? I think just the CLUES we garner quickly are enough to save someone in our descendency who happens one day to have the time, money or inclination, will save them about a hundred years of research! LOL!!!! Shall we enjoy our lists??? <vbg> jan Listowner: Tnstewar-L@rootsweb.com Tnstewar-D@rootsweb.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Marietta Sexton <pollyanna@snowcrest.net> To: <DanvilleCrossing-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 1999 6:39 AM Subject: Re: Info on Genealogy and Copyrights. > This is great advice..... for those who are fortunate enough to live near > the source; > ie, the archives, libraries and courthouses where the records are.
