I was looking over a will from South Carolina dated in 1875. There were 9 slaves listed along with their values. Any ideas as to why they would be listed on a will written 10 years after the end of the War Between the States? The will was a copy of the original, but I do not think the date was in error. Any ideas? Anybody ever seen this before? Thanks. Knox Martin
