It took a while to settle in, but I'm back to doing family research, with a new computer and renewed enthusiasm. About a month ago, after years of looking for traces of my West Tennessee ancestors, by mail, on-line, and in person, I discovered that I had neglected to pay attention to some important clues...phone books! Two cousins, seperated from my branch of the family by three generations and 70-some years, discovered me. Imagine my surprise upon larning that they lived in the Danville Crossing area, in Waverly and New Johnsonville. I have passed that way several times in my research, but had my eyes focused on graveyards, courthouses and libraries, and missed my real-life kin. We have swapped stories, photographs, etc., and sarted to bridge the gaps in our history. From now on, I will watch for the trees in the forest, and try not to trip over my own roots.
