    1. [DC] Margaret E. DAVIS
    2. Appreciate for your response. You are right, it doesn't look like either of the two Margaret E. DAVISes that you mention are the one who married Lewis BEASLEY in 1863. Sure wish I knew who she was. Davis, but we have two Margaret Elizabeth Davis's in my husband's family. One born 9/2/1839 in Henry County. Her brother Elbert Eldridge Davis also had a daughter Margaret Elizabeth Davis born 6/9/1860. The father of Margaret Elizabeth and Elbert Eldridge was Lewis Davis, Jr. His father of course was Lewis Davis, Sr., first appearing in Stewart county, then in Henry county after Henry county was formed. Lewis, Jr. had two brothers James and John Adam. Since Margaret Elizabeth seems to be a family name maybe one of these was in Stewart county. As I said these do not seem to be you Margaret E. Davis but maybe the info will give some clues. I would like to find Lewis Davis, Sr. parents, but they are probably in Orange County,NC. Also do not have much information on Lewis Davis, Jr.'s siblings. >>
