Hello, Some of my folks had slaves. I have found them in Wills, documents where they were sold, and books. I keep a list of them in the notes of the person that owned them in my Genealogy. In fact one of my Ancestors (Lewis Coon) set one of his slaves free in 1812 in Mississippi and the Free slave acquired at least one slave. That is in Court Records. My gggggrandfather in front of the Sheriff and other men was handed the money to pay for the slave because the towns people wouldn't let the free slave pay for the bought slave himself. The free slave "Ceaser " became quite wealthy. He paid off his freedom to the descendents of Lewis Coon by working for them for a time or paid them 200 cash. My ggggrandfather & mother was paid 200 dollars. Robbie
