I still haven't found the requested information on Underwood, but if any of you looking for that surname are interested I DID find this. 1. A Howell Underwood witnessed a deed in 1808 between Rody Hall and James Dunbar in Stewart County. 2. A Lewis Underwood married a Georgia Ann Baggett in Houston Co. in 1888. (By the way, at the same time a Winters was married---Clemmie Winters to J.R. Boyd. 3. 1830 census lists a Creasy Underwood as head of household in Stewart Co with one male 10-15, one male 15-20, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 20-30. Not much but maybe stuff to file away...I will keep on a pluggin'...may turn something up you can use...still haven't remembered who it was looking for that surname... jan
