Some of you SEXTON researchers maybe interested in this. - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- I'm not sure what you would count as proof. At the KY Hist Soc library there is a splendid collection of Sexton data called, straightforwardly enough, "Sexton," compiled by genealogist Patricia Patton. When I lived nearby I photocopied only parts clearly pertaining to my line, and now I'm nowhere close to the library. Anyway... She asserts that two groups of Sexton descendants who hadn't met one another had both preserved the tradition that William and his brother James immigrated to VA from Ireland, and that William's children were: Benjamin, who moved to TN; John, who fought in the Revolution and then moved to NC; William, who fought in the Revolution and then moved to KY with his wife Leah Free. She also cites Grayson Co, VA land deeds which name Benjamin, William, Archelous or Archibald, John, James, and Leah as being the children of a William Sexton. So none of this is a Bible record duly notarized and with witnesses, but it looks OK to this lazy man. I just want to know where in Ireland William was from. Oh, and I want to win a small lottery so I can get the librarians to copy the rest of that book for me :) While I didn't copy the section with Pryor, I do by accident have some of his children. Their entries show that Pryor is questionably the son of James. For what it's worth, p.69 of the book ends with "Lemuel," page 112 begins with "Will." The book is call number 929/H876h. None have told me they have proven his father. I believe Leah Free has also been researched. I have very little on Leah, some on William. And none on his father. Been searching for 7 years for Pryor Sextons father, who is suppose to be a brother to William, wife Leah. Dead ends, dead ends. Paula from Tulsa ______________________________
